Can We Automate That?

There is a very good chance you cannot go an entire day without hearing about automation. Perhaps it’s the commercial that shows someone turning off their TV, turning a faucet off, and locking the doors to their house all at once via their smart phone. Maybe you have read about Google’s autonomous cars, or see entire manufacturing operations run by robots. I constantly ask myself both in my personal and professional life, “Can’t we automate that?”

The answer is most likely yes. In my personal life, I can get a sprinkler system installed in my yard so I don’t need to water it manually any more. I can put a motion sensor in the basement laundry room so you don’t have to worry about turning the lights on or off when you enter or leave the room with your hands full. Do you ever wish you had robots that could take over tasks that you, your department, or your organization do on a regular basis? Are you extracting data to report on? Are you checking the availability of documents you need to download to complete a job? Are you combining data from multiple sources to evaluate?

Kapow is your answer, your Robot Revolution, if you will.

Tell me more you say!

Kapow Enterprise 9.3 is an agile data integration platform that lets you extract and act on critical information from a variety of sources… and make it accessible and usable it across your organization.

So how does it all work together?

  • Start with building integration workflows (robots) in Design Studio. This is done quickly and intuitively without requiring specialized development resources.
  • Once you build your workflow, you deploy in a run-time environment (Roboserver). Then you can manage, run, and schedule workflows in the Management Console. From there, you can either use it as is, or compose the workflow into a light weight app called a Kapow Kapplet that delivers data results into the hands of business users.
  • The Kapplet is easy to use by any user without any training and can then be published and organized in an enterprise library we call Kapow KappZone. KappZone make Kapplets available to users based on their roles and permissions.
  • Business users can run Kapplets to get answers to their business questions and take action in their personal library called, My KappZone.

Kapow is point and click, no coding required. How? With Synthetic API’s. Synthetic APIs are a non-intrusive way of providing standard API functionality to applications without any modification to the underlying application. They wrap the web application presentation layer, mimicking real user interaction in an automated manner, while preserving presentation layer business rules and data integrity.

Remember, always keep asking yourself, “Can’t we automate that?”
