Kiriworks Honors Milwaukee County with 2014 Innovative Company of the Year Award
Milwaukee, WI, June 19, 2014 – Milwaukee County was rewarded for excellence in the implementation and continued expansion of their enterprise content management (ECM) solution, OnBase by Hyland. Milwaukee County was presented with the 2014 Innovative Company of the Year Award at the recent Innovation Conference hosted by Kiriworks. Kiriworks developed the award to salute organizations who achieve significant results with their ECM solution.
Milwaukee County began researching ECM products in an effort to reduce their paper consumption and improve efficiencies within the organization. Jimmie Lindsey, IT Manager for Milwaukee County’s Information Management Services Division has been instrumental in the OnBase implementation and expansion project. “When we began evaluating ECM systems we chose to work with Kiriworks and OnBase because all the other systems we reviewed were simply core document management systems and required third party components to support workflow and integration. With OnBase, we were able to get all we needed in one platform.”
Starting in Child Support Enforcement they were able to quickly deploy the solution and immediately show the impact of OnBase and what it could mean for the organization. Since partnering with Kiriworks in 2007, Milwaukee County has expanded the use of OnBase into seven key departments including Child Support, County Clerk, Corporation Counsel, Finance/Accounts Payable, Medical Examiner, Airport and the Clerk of Courts. To date they have successfully converted over 15 Million images of case files from paper and film into OnBase. Looking forward, they plan to continue the expansion into other areas that will enable the County to completely eliminate standing paper storage through comprehensive records management.
